The New Age Of Hair Loss Treatment

We were recently reading a scientific magazine, where a medical researcher had claimed to find a new treatment for hair loss. In this article, the scientist was putting forward her recommendations, and was also mentioning some of the things that people used to do in the old days to prevent hair loss from happening.

You would literally be amazed if we were to tell you all of the things, and all of the lengths that people went to, to stop their hair from falling out. Because some of these are particularly humorous, and some are even downright dangerous, we thought it would be appropriate to share them with you for a little bit of comedic fun. Enjoy.

Trick 1 - Butter Head

We seriously have no idea where this one came from. Basically, the butter head myth involves smearing liquid butter across the scalp, followed by the application of plastic wrap. Apparently, after leaving this in place for about 20 or 30 minutes, and after doing it for a few months, the hair starts to grow back.

Not only does this sound highly bizarre, but it has also been proven not to work. We just wonder who it was that decided to try this in the first place.

Trick 2 - Hot / Cold Head

Another seemingly wacky idea was that people who were losing their hair should soak their head in hot water, followed quickly by a session in cold water, followed again by a session in hot water, and so on. Apparently, according to the people who came up with this - temperature fluctuations are supposed to prevent the loss of hair, or at least slow the rate of loss down.

So, does this trick work? We asked a leading hair specialist whether this had any effect or not. His reply was that it was actually a bad thing to do - as it exposed the brain to fluctuations on temperature on a regular basis - and hence may have thrown the natural temperature balance out of kilter.

Therefore, his advice was that you should definitely not do what is recommended above. This is absolutely insane, and will certainly not cause your hair to grow back.
